I'll be at Usana with my wife and kids on the 7th. It will be a great show. The best part will be giving our teenagers the opportunity to hear some great music and see all the 40 somethings making out.

Ouch!! BYZoo fan? No way brutha! lol Discount tix did happen, last weekend. Got ours for $10.19. Always looking for a deal. And if you are at Usana, you'll be in trouble! Las Vegas Show 8/2 Planet Hollywood review.
I have never seen any of the bands live but for Mike Score in the late 90's. The Good and the Bad.
Bad
too long to change between bands
too short of sets for the headliners
poor turnout maybe poor promotion may equal a one time affar for this type of tour in the U.S.
sound problems and some shitty mic mixing, to a point
Good
eveyone was at their best in attitute and sound, the musicians were great!
Martin Fry looks and sounds unreal, same for eveyone but Mike Score, but he still held his own.
Fans that showed up were pumped, and I loved it!

Tbone and I had a fantastic time at the Salt Lake City show tonight. Best $10 I ever spent. The venue was a club called the Depot, a converted train depot in the trendy Gateway mall in downtown SLC. The intimate venue was packed - 1,000+ or so, certainly one of the better-attended New Wave shows I've seen lately.

All four acts were fantastic - ABC and Human League were phenomenal. Best show in the last 10 years for me. All of the performances were very tight and full of energy. Pete Byrne of Naked Eyes was his usual energetic, enthusiastic self - performing a nice mix of old and new. Unfortunately I didn't catch a full set list

ABC appeared with a tight six-piece band that also backed Belinda Carlisle. Martin Fry was in top form - in a conservative dark suit and skinny tie.

Belinda Carlisle performed a nice mix of solo stuff and Go-Go's material. She looked and sounded great. Of the four acts I was most skeptical of her, but she did not disappoint one bit. Vacation and Our Lips Are Sealed were spot on - everyone was on their feet and moving.

Headliners the Human League were quite simply awesome. One senses they know this is the twilight of their career - and that they best go out with a bang. And what a bang it was. Oakey looked and sounded great - coming out in a perfectly tailored dark suit and white shirt, under an overcoat. I included a shot of the stunning set - all white synths, guitars, and drums - very cool.

The changeovers were very quick - 10-15 minutes max.

This was a show I'll remember for many years to come. Looking forward to your review, Tbone.

I couldn't have said it better my friend! A spectacular evening, and even better than I thought it would be. Though the bartender said, early on, that he didn't think the crowd was really into the show (this was right after ABC ended), I could not agree. Energy level was high, not only from the performers, but also from the enthusiastic audience.

drsevrin and I have seen Naked Eyes and ABC a few times in the past number of years, and I would have to concur that this was the best performances I've witnessed. Really one of the better shows I've ever been to.

The highlight though was The Human League. It didn't matter to me that it wasn't original band members (other than Oakley, Joanne Catherall and Susan Ann Sulley)...the musicians on stage, especially the female guitarist, really took it as their own. Amazing.

As for the venue, The Depot, it was a wise choice. Not only was the original location, Usana Amphitheatre, going to be to large for this show (it "seats" around 15,000), but The Depot did make the show far more intimate, creating a connection between the audience and the performers, something that would not have happened at Usana.

My only complaint for this show? No XXL sized shirts, and I was ready to buy. [:(]

No, I thi9nk the main reason for the "bad turnout" was the extremely high ticket prices? when i saw that GA tix were selling for $125, I said "nope, Ill pass". If anyone @ the Aladdin(Planet Hollywood) had any brains, they'd have made the tickets around 50-60 bucks, and sold a shitload of them. KROQ did this years back for one of their "Inland Invasion" shows, and sold over 40,000+ tickets, and we got MUCH more music/bands than this bill had. I got to see the fucking Cure for that show, do a nearly 3 hr set...and Duran Duran...and The Furs, and Marc Almond, and Bow Wow Wow, and Dramarama, and a ton more.... Thats what pissed me off the most, otherwise, I and several others wouldve been there.

Plus, I heard NO advertising for it on the radio, none, zilch. Why not have contests to win tickets? something, an online drawing?

Their venue used to be one of the best(before they tore it down), now it sucks.

Unfortunately, I ended up missing the show. Our 13 year old son ended up in the hospital that afternoon and had to have emergency surgery for a ruptured appendix. It was scary, but everything turned out ok and he's fine and should be back to his normal self in the next couple of weeks.

I may have to look at the schedule of this tour and go elsewhere to see it. It's been too long since I've seen a concert that I wanted to see.

Great fun at the Sovereign Arena, Trenton NJ show! The show really turned the corner when Flock of Seagulls played "Telecommunication". I was on my feet the rest of the show dancing. I wore my vintage 80s LOOP Lounge black T and my hair was up and representin'. At first I was worried that this was feeling like an oldies showcase, but of course, the music rocked and the Human League brought their great sense of style and showmanship. Really enjoyed it and the crowd was totally groovin'. Except for the few sloppy women, toppling over in their too short denim skirts and blondorexic hair, or wobbly guy with perma-beer grin, it was a good time had by all!:)
