It happens! Now...concentrate on "the eyes" video you referenced. You'll get that one if you keep running through the tune.

We didn't sell a lot of records, but somehow we left an impression.

Hey Glittering Prize!
When you submit your responses to Blir, you'll beat me. I got 24 out of 25. I remained completely perplexed by one of them but I knew time wouldn't help so I sent my answers to Blir as is.

Last call - game ends Sunday night. Thus far, you can imagine there's a tight bunching near the top with just a few trailing stragglers whose personal mission will be to listen to more new wave! [:o)]

Blir, this one was a blast to do.
Another great test of ones new wave knowledge.
You should do one every other month or maybe if
you're too busy, once every season. I'm toying
with doing an audio one, as my video collection
is all trapped on VHS tapes and I'm not savy
enough to transfer them to digital.

...and I haven't felt so alive, in years.

Thanks Blir. I feel a little better about this one than the first VNTT a couple weeks ago. I'm betting we'll see a perfect score from one or more of the members here.

Ditto... I know #14, but just couldn't recall it in time, so I just submitted without it and just guessed at the band...[:p]

[b]THE RESULTS[/b]

Alright, close enough to 11pm and I gotta get to bed. Thanks to all who played again. This as you probably saw was a bit of a softball warm-up to the next contest...a VNTT 50 Years I've been stewing up. I didn't do any stats for these results. Safe to say that most folks were bunched up near the top with just a few to no misses at all. Most of you passed New Wave 101. To a very few others - you know who you are - listen to more new wave! The rankings:

Gold Medalists with No Misses: Mathman, Jim2, marie3, cubby, and wherewereuin82

Silver Medalists with 1 Miss: Otters, tileboy, club80, and swerve

Bronze Medalists with 2 Misses: NuWaveRx, Big Bri, ralphd, and glokstadt

Nicely done all. The answers are below. Nearly perfect scores for most of the songs besides a few highlighted:

01 - Joy Division - Love Will Tear Us Apart
02 - Smiths - How Soon Is Now?
03 - Heaven 17 - Let Me Go
04 - Talk Talk - It's My Life
05 - The The - Uncertain Smile
06 - Psychedelic Furs - Love My Way
07 - Split Enz - I Got You
08 - INXS - Don't Change
09 - Japan - Quiet Life [a couple of "Duran Duran?" responses here, tsk tsk]
10 - AFOS - Wishing (I Had a Photograph of You)
11 - Cure - In Between Days
12 - Payola$ - Eyes of a Stranger [surprisingly tough for some]
13 - OMD - Souvenir
14 - Comsat Angels - Will You Stay Tonight?
15 - Depeche Mode - Just Can't Get Enough
16 - Human Leangue - Love Action (I Believe In Love)
17 - Blancmange - Don't Tell Me
18 - Records - Starry Eyes [this and Killing Joke were the lowest scoring]
19 - Killing Joke - Love Like Blood [an signature bass line but admittedly little airplay]
20 - Translator - Everywhere That I'm Not
21 - Fixx - Stand or Fall
22 - English Beat - Best Friend
23 - Specials - A Message to You Rudy
24 - U2 - New Years Day
25 - Clash - Straight to Hell [another one with a few misses]

...you can see they're mostly culled from the cumulative NWO Top 100 Songs polls:

OMFG I am such a total moron. I just realized now that if I clicked that little volume button I could hear the music! I was trying to do this with no volume based on the pictures alone and failing miserably. I didn't watch enough videos for that. Sheee-it!

I didn't submit in time, but I only missed two:

14 - Comsat Angels - Will You Stay Tonight?
18 - Records - Starry Eyes

Never would've guessed either one. I have some Comsat Angels albums, but apparently not the one with that song. The Killing Joke video was automatic for me, I'm surprised anyone missed it (unless you're not a KJ fan, I guess). Thanks for another fun one, Blir.

Same here with KJ and with the two you missed. Automatics for me but it's like anything else. Our exposure and our likes are not exactly the same. I missed The Payola$. Easy for most but not for me.

I can't believe I missed some of those....there is just no excuse!! [B)] Well, I blame it on the fact that I'm such a crappy test-taker....I'll study much more for the next one!!!
