I know this is a little off-base from what you guys are discussing but I finally got a chance to watch "Control" and the documentary "Joy Division" the other night. Although I like New Order, I wasn't a Joy Division fan before, but now that I've gotten a more in-depth look into Ian Curtis and his life as well as the state of Manchester at the time, I've found myself getting drawn into their music. It's been such a discovery process....their live performances were just incredible. I'm really loving the live performances of "Dead Souls" and "Transmission". "Atmosphere" is just heart breaking... God, I wish I had been old enough to appreciate them back then, but I was only 8 when Ian killed himself and it would be another 4 years before I would really start getting into NW music, another 3 before I see NO perform for the first time.
