Wall of Voodoo - "Hollywood the second time" can be ruled out. It's absolutely different.

I just listened to View From the Hill's "Turn Out the Light" and there's also a song on that album IN TIME called "Stay and Let Me Love You" and it is neither of those songs.

View From the Hill has primarily a female vocalist.

I was looking at the youtube page and noticed a link for "Statistics & Data" below the video, next to the comments... it shows links and clicks to the page.

Here's a thread on the alphaville forum about our mystery song... interesting to read other peoples opinions on the song.

That's it:
http://www.discogs.com/release/556443

We are talking about the italodisco group. This is a re-release of "Prisoner of your love" in 1988 and it incudes the song "stay" which does not appear on the original release in 85'.

[/quote]It's the closest sounding to the singer of Stay (The Second Time Around) that I've heard yet. Too bad they don't have a song called Stay (The Second Time Around) on their Stretch LP, or I'd be pretty ecstatic right about now.

I sent a message to Boom Boom Room through their MySpace page and asked them to listen to the clip... I'll report back any developments either way.

DANG!
Water7 just might be onto something here...

I've known and have their song 'Love Your Face' which DEFINITELY has a similar vocal inflection.

But WAIT..

It's been previously suggested the 'Stay' sample may be a pitched down taped copy of the original recording. Me thinks that might be the case given that 'Here Comes The Man' actually has a strikingly similar synth riff!

Anywho, here's the vid for it:

(Hope the band gets back to you Dan![8)])
