It's just another safe choice compilation with a couple of 'edgy' tracks thrown in and even those have been heard many times before.

Considering Grace Jones didn't have her first UK hit until 1980, why would she be included on a UK 70s compilation?

Punk pioneers? New York Dolls, yes but not them. The problem with W(J)ayne Country & The Electric Chairs is that they never left the barroom until after punk started.

Wayne County in the UK; 'the cosmetic punks' ,as they were, have all stated,in print,
that Wayne was their first public 'identifier' who gave them the green'light
to do their flamboyantly gay thing as 'new wave' emerged;
among them Holly Johnson of Frankie Goes To Hollywood(who went to see
Wayne at "Erics" in Liverpool on a regular basis; he also adored Cherry
Vanilla) the same is true for Bowie -phile Boy George, who has credited
County on numerous instances in print,and the over the top Pete Burns,
who has a long history of obsessing over Wayne/Jayne County;
if Wayne hadn't existed and set a precedent in the UK,would Holly, George
and Pete have evolved in the same way? Highly unlikely..;
