I've been hanging on to this one for a few weeks until the family was charged. It's a real tragedy and travesty.

We have a little girl raped & murdered in her home who was locked in a room every night & fed once a day, a 300 lb step-brother who likes to dress like Zorro & have imaginary sword fights in the front yard, 100 wild cats in the house, chickens and an Emu out back, two white trash piece of shit parents, 3 foot tall piles of feces in the house and garbage everywhere:

That's enough to make them WTPOS, but the real pieces of shit here? DSS, who made 3 visits to the home & determined that it was suitable to live in. They said that eating once a day was an acceptable choice for the family. A little girl digging through garbage at school for food was ok too.
The result? DSS throws it's hands up & says "The neighbors should have called more..." Several of them did call...apparently it's their fault? What a load...

Now the finger pointing starts. I work for an agency that is alot alike. When the case workers do work, them skim through and hope all is well because most of the time it can't be tracked back to them if something does happen. Now that something did, the higher ups will fire the case workers to shift the blame off the agency and call it a day. I see it all the time.

I don't mind the finger pointing within the agency - it happens at mine too. What I take a huge issue with is that the agency is blaming the neighbors for "not calling enough." How many times are you supposed to call? Apparently more than a few by a few different people including teachers at the school.
