Really, "word association game" boy?

Go to page 44 of that thread http://nwoutpost.com/forum/topic.asp?TO ... ichpage=44 and read what I said in reply to MikeP. I DO NOT use those threads as post padding, and had Mike not implemented that 10-post rule I'd be at least 250 posts higher than where I am right now. And hey, those games actually have meaning, get people playing and spread the fun. Your "LOL" posts are utterly meaningless, useless, unnecessary and a BLATANT attempt at increasing your post count.

No offence club80, but you really are the last person to talk about high post counts and being (un)productive on this board. If I was half as stupid/immature as you are I'd probabaly throw in a couple of insults, but I'll spare myself the trouble and just hope one day you'll see the light and stop criticizing every goddamned thing I say.

I came here for the same reason that most of the good folks were drawn to this board. New Wave Music. However, some of these people barely venture into those sections anymore, instead spending a majority of their time perusing the NNNW section for serious or not-so-serious discussions in an ever-widening range of discussion topics. Many others, like myself, get involved in a multitude of sections. I go where my interests lie and ignore those things that don't interest me.
Now...let's look at this thread as a typical example of your interactions on this board.

A new member, Tomman888, looks for help in compiling a list of New Wave Halloween songs. Your response? "this has been done countless times before". Search for it on the board. Somewhat abrasive. Welcome to the board Mr. New Member!

Tomman888 shares some of his ideas with us. Your response? One of his songs "sticks out like a sore thumb"

Cookie submits some suggestions. Your response? One of the choices is "just desperate". One of our mods, Marie3, who is also one of the most respected members of this board calls you out on your response. Your response? "Chill out". To Marie3? Are you kidding?

Then, you try to stir up trouble again by referring to "the idiots amongst you" who bash Celine Dion, AFTC and Mike and The Mechanics. That would pretty much include everyone on the board. Unprovoked again.

This is a constant pattern with you. I can honestly say I like everyone on this board...except you. Seriously. No kidding. I just don't like when people pull this nonsense all the time and then can't even figure out what they did and why no one likes them. No one is picking on you because you were chosen at random. You've earned it. It's the playground all over again.

If you really want to be a respected member here, stop picking the fights. This is just my advice, take it or leave it. It is meant constructively and without malice.

Does anyone disagree with me? Am I way off base here?

We didn't sell a lot of records, but somehow we left an impression.

Not what you would call a list of all new wave songs but still some I think deserve a spin on Halloween [xx(] Night.

Faith and the Muse - In Dreams of Mine

Merge - Lost in Eternity

David Bowie - Ashes to Ashes

Bloodrock - D.O.A.

Tangerine Dream - Hyperborea

Q Lazzarus - Goodbye Horses

If Minty's been here before, I'd guess he used to be Ben_at_work.
BenjaMIN ... MINty ... it's the kind of nickname a douchebag like Ben could conceivably have. Plus they have similar "personalities". The only problem with my theory is that Minty is semi-literate whereas Ben couldn't spell cat if you spotted him the c and the a.

I would have thrown $50.00 on it being Andy, but this makes sense.

Too bad this thread dissolved into a something other than an annual listing of Halloween songs. Love this time of year and I always make a new Halloween mix every year. I look forward to finding new songs and suggestions to add to my mixes and I will usually keep the classics in there as well. Some of my favorites that I have not seen metioned yet are:
Red Lipstique-"Dracs Back" (this is an incarnation of the Bollock Bros. and available on itunes)
Electric Guitars "Wolfman Tap" (love the 12")

also:
Duran Duran "Hungry Like the Wolf"
Erasure "Phantom Bride"
Police "Spirits in the Material World"

so many more...I may be back to post. Can the people who are bickering start another thread for that? Enjoy the season!

You're right, I'm sorry. Let's cross that bridge, only to reach the other side.

That's how I found out about the many Halloween threads...

club80, good response. But I don't like the fact you single me out to not like me when you don't even know me. Did you think all the mockery of AFTC and Celine Dion done by you guys in past threads was unprovocative? As soon as you all got the sense that I was defending those artists you immediately tried to fuel the fire between us by making even more fun of them. In that sense I can't see how my "provoking" of Tomman or Marie or whoever was any different to you guys provoking me. Hence I can't see why you would not like me for that reason. What have I done to deserve this?
