I found John Ruth

Postby Max Murdoc » Mon Mar 06, 2006 10:35 am

John Ruth goes by the name John Ruskan now and is selling "I am a Model" plus 4 other CD's on CD Baby and Amazon. As some of you know, "I am a Model" is a classic new wave album along the lines of Gary Numan. Dark new wave seems to fit. I am listening to his new release "Day By Day" and it is excellent.

Everyone should go to CD Baby and at least sample the tracks. Start with "I am a Model" and work your way up to now. I'm thrilled that John is still releasing music.

I found this on vinyl last summer and had no idea what it was. It's since become a great addition to my collection.

Great news as I only have a few of his songs in decent form.

I just heard from John again...this is one very generous guy. He has 2 unreleased albums from the same time period as "I am a Model" and he's going to send cleaned up versions to me. He said that he had intended to put them up on his site but didn't think that there was enough interest in them.

Let's show him that we are interested by going to his site and leaving comments.

Thanks so much for this information. I've got the I AM A MODEL LP, and am happy to be able to find it on CD now.

Here's the direct link to CD Baby to get "I am a Model"

http://cdbaby.com/cd/ruskan1

CD Baby sold out so John had to send more so, thanks everyone! For those of you who had tried to get one, go back cause new ones are there. His second release called "In" is also great...it's like a continuation of his first. John thanks everyone and I thank you too.

I wonder why the "I Am A Model" CD has so quickly become so obscure. It's his only CD that is not available anymore on Amazon, not even through the marketplace. Last time it was listed by someone, I ordered it and then got notified that they didn't have it anymore. Very frustrating.

thanks for the offer. I actually was able to find the MP3s online, and in after hearing the entire album, the only track I would really want on CD is "Goodbye". Maybe it will appear on some compilation one of these days--or I'd snag the CD if it comes back into print. I actually wrote to him using the e-mail contact on his website to ask if he has any idea if it's being reissued at all, but the e-mail bounced back. Seems that address is now defunct.
