I can't really say that I don't like you personally. I don't know you. I certainly dislike the way you make antagonistic comments towards posters on this board. I will always defend the folks on this board who are trying to have some fun or innocently asking for help. I'll defend them in writing or in person. Anywhere. Anytime.

There is a big difference between provoking the members of this board and poking fun of those artists.

First of all, Georgie of AFTC became the butt of the jokes because he asked for it. He was one of the most annoying and rude members of this board that we have ever seen. I never even had it out with him directly but he made enemies of a lot of people here with his attitude. He even went so far as to actually wish ill towards a family member of a very, VERY well-respected member of this board. Intolerable. That was his parting shot. Well, actually, his exit strategy was chosen for him. He was banned. I don't think he will be forgiven and the anti-AFTC sentiment is not likely to wane in time. Personally, I don't think the music was very good at all but that is my opinion, apart and separate from my feelings towards him. Most importantly, it is just my opinion. It's fine that you like their music but don't expect to find a great number of fans or any tolerance for his music on this board. It won't happen and you'll probably have to accept and tolerate that. He made his own bed.

As for Celine Dion, the difference between mocking her and antagonizing members of this board is even greater. It comes down to this...Celine Dion doesn't read this board. It's that simple. That was all innocent fun. Tomman888, Marie3 and Cookie do.

We didn't sell a lot of records, but somehow we left an impression.

The whole Celine Dion thing was pretty funny. Come to think of it, so was the Mike & The Mechanics stuff. You'd never see that quality of interaction on other boards, although many from other boards watched with great interest.

I just wish we were able to work our way over to a frank discussion of Rita McNeil's musical talents...

I'm not sure if I've seen it mentioned already, but what about "Martin" by Soft Cell. Talk about an epic Halloween song if there ever was one. I remember a review for their "Art of Falling Apart" album said that the guys could write horror scores.

Also, "Tubular Bells" by Book of Love (Great Exorcist sample in this one!)

"Theme From Friday the 13th Part 3" by Hot Ice

"Cry Little Sister" from the Lost Boys soundtrack

The Soft Cell cut is a good call, and I don't think it's been mentioned. Soft Cell and Marc's off-shoot project Marc and the Mambas created music that could fit many Horror films of the day. Soft Cell's first three albums were made during one of the greatest Grindhouse film eras. The experimental "Slave To This" would have worked in a film.

Maybe Gary Numan's She's Got Claws could fit in this list as well.
