Flirtin with disaster - bicycle crash

Do you recall any bicycle crashes as a child ? how bad was it ? One of my most memorable wrecks took place in the mid 1970s. I was with my family at a campground near the Hearst Castle in San Simeon, CA. One early afternoon I was out riding my Schwinn bicycle around the campground. I was rounding this curve when I noticed this pretty, slightly older girl, maybe 14 (I was about 12 then). Well I decided to "flirt" with her by winking at her. That was a mistake. I was so fixed on that girl, that I ended up crashing into her parents' trailer at about 20 mph. I hit inside the corner where the hitch meets the front. the girl saw this of course, ran over to the point of imact saying "OMG ARE YOU ALRIGHT ??" I was ok,just a few scratches, but it was really more embarrasing.

I ran the front tire of my ten speed into a sewer drainage grate and did a flip over the curb. It kind of looked like the end of this vid.

me too, enzfan. That was one of my worst crashes. As a child (& teen) who went EVERYWHERE on my bike, man, I got into sooo many crashes. They were all minor, but I still have small scars attesting to my clumsiness.
