[/quote]I don't know if my stocks are imbalanced, I only own 5 individual stocks...Bank of America, GE, Pfizer, Mcdonalds, Costco as well as an S&P 500 index fund (yes I know GE & Bank of America are in the S&P 500 index fund as well)... A year ago GE was at about 40, today it's at 19, Bank of America was at 50, now it's at about 20.

I sure hope these 5 companies (in addition to the rest of the economy) will recover given a long time horizon.

I'm in a similar situation. I had been thinking of going more conservative for a while, but never got around to it. I'm standing pat with 90% stocks (mostly index funds), 30% non-US, 5% bonds, 5% real estate. I'm not even looking to see how far I've dropped.

I have shifted all of my investments and assets from my left front pocket to my right front pocket. So far so good.

I finally checked my 401k online today, pretty sickening. Year to date down over 31% with no end in sight. Right now I'm 53% common stock index fund which runs about 60/40 domestic to international market exposure, 41% intrest income fund it's slow and steady but at least it's not being squashed(fortunately I had moved some of my stock assests into this a while ago), and 6% in what amounts to employer stock. I did take out a chunk out to pay for the wifes plastic surgery months ago, at least I'm not losing investment on that.[:)]

I moved everything into money markets a while ago. I always figured "slow & steady" was the best way to go. So far I've lost 7 cents.

I reallocated some of my 401k holdings to bond funds. I also have a small amount in mutual funds but I moved that to a money market fund. But like XXX, I have a long time til I retire so I wonder if I'll rebound much later.

Woo Hoo!! The Recession and crash is over!!!!!

"...Patron On Ice, and we can pop bottles all night, baby you can have whatever you'd like...."

NEW YORK -- Wall Street stormed back from last week's devastating losses Monday, sending the Dow Jones industrials soaring a nearly inconceivable 936 points after major governments' plans to support the global banking system reassured distraught investors. All the major indexes rose more than 11 percent.

Consumers are not buying as much, a sign of a slowing economy, so now more supply then demand, prices dropping on gas and the barrel of oil. Example, on the weekends the freeways are wide open which is just so untypical for Los Angeles.

I love this buying of bank stock to boost the amount banks can lend to each other, WTF? I love capitalism, hey just fuck up and the government will pay you, and we'll own part of your bank, a nationalization; so big bail out is corporate socialism, but hey fuck the little guy if he wants a national health insurance plan/coverage, that's just socalism--and not good... give me a break, as the fat cats keep getting fatter...
