Welcome to the new forum!
If you are a previously registered user, you must do the following:

1) Click on 'I forgot my password' at the login prompt
2) Enter your username and email you registered with and submit
3) You will receive an email with an activation link. Please click it and then log in using the random password provided
4) Go to your User Control Panel and click on the Profile tab
5) Click on 'Edit Account Settings' and enter your new password twice followed by the random password provided earlier. Click Submit.
6) That's it...you're back in! You may have to log in again with your new password.

Thanks for posting this sample of KYYX. This is the first aircheck of this station I have ever seen available.
It sounds like a first rate clone of KROQ. I mean that as a compliment.

Thanks Yachtingtype! That was my fave Seattle station back then; I still have those KYYX "Wave" magazines shown on the clip stashed away somewhere.

I do miss the days when you could hear stuff like the Pretenders "Tatooed Love Boys" on commercial radio!

Awesome clips,
I'll take anything I can get.
But there was really so much MORE going on at the station over the air...Stephen Rabow would play records backwards (anything from the Chipmunks to Bow Wow Wow!), play records in slo-mo (33 rpm if it was a 45 RPM record), old movie clips, all kinds of wacky stuff. Most of the DJs were really quite creative and funny, and told stories about the artists and songs. Rabow, especially, had a lot of knowledge about the music. Man, makes me nostalgic.
And those Wave magazines !!
