This thread belongs in the Non-New Wave section because if one had to choose only five bands, shirley there'd be a selection or two that is not New Wave. Anyway, here are mine:

1. Ennio Morricone: I had to choose the greatest music composer of the 20th century. He has an extensive opus that would dwarf pretty much anyone else chosen in this topic - and it all sounds good![}:)]
2. Roxy Music and Bryan Ferry: Should they be mutually exclusive?
3. Japan and David Sylvian: I had to choose David Sylvian since Japan is no longer cutting records.
4. Silvertone and Chris Isaak
5. I'm thinkin' someone like Bert Kaempfert or Ray Conniff because everyone needs elevator muzak in their lives[}:)]

I love Bert Kaempfert, "That Happy Feeling" is my favorite song by him.

With a name like "YachtingType" I'd have imagined you'd the first to choose bands and artists such as Les Baxter or Arthur Lyman[}:)] Hell, even Richard Clayderman... but, really, why didn't you choose Les Baxter?
