oldnewwaver, nice choices! I notice you are not the first to list 'Call Of The West' by Wall Of Voodoo. Just out of curiosity, why is that your favorite WOV album? And you can't go wrong with the Fleshtones, I love "Roman Gods"

True. I did twist the rules a bit (Especially with the CD releases which were good early examples of the CD format moving in along with many extended Rhino Best Of collections of the day).

I remembered it most through the I.R.S. reissue through my best friend owning that edition, so clearly it was mainly through that memory, It was either down to What Is Beat? or the debut, but I went with what was the best to my ears despite the collection being very solid. It was a very ultimate wise move to get those early albums at the peak of their popularity in the States as at least the debut ranks among the best first albums of the era.

It's all good, I.R.S. re-released them when The beat signed on... I just looked through my record collection and saw the Sire label, that's all...

Just jumping in here...I can't decide between Call of the West and Dark Continent. The Index Masters is definitely second...I can't pick between the other two.

'Index Masters' would come before 'Call Of The West' now don't get me wrong, I like 'Call Of The West' but I only like a handful of the songs on the album. In my opinion it's their weakest effort. Blir, nice choices too! 'Happy Hour' by Humans is a classic! I love the song "Obituary" and will normally play it just to annoy my folks. [:D]
