In high school I was a way ahead of the curve, a pioneer of sorts, called a little punk since I was 5, a DJ,gang member and the guy that your girlfriend snuck out her bedroom window to be with for late night fun.[;)]

Snatch-master pretty much for 4 years. Ate enough bush to sprout my own seedlings. Music exposure was minimized by the constant thigh muffs on my ears. Graduated with little knowledge of the new wave scene but learned to guess a girls weight within 5 pounds just by her parking on my face. Duran Duran or box lunch, the choice was easy. Guess it's why to this day Kissing The Pink is my favorite 80s group. A pair of steak drapes well positioned on my curtain rod produced some rather intense rhythms, if I say so myself. Yes, high school was an adventure, albeit not musically for me.

I was mostly a full-on New Waver, but hung out with different kinds of people, mostly my beloved geeky classmates in my AP classes, as well as the radical Drama kids. I turned Punk Rocker in my Senior year, but then had to move to a small town in Alaska where there were no other punks, man that was sad and boring. Stayed punk and morphed into wavey-alterna-goth through most of college.

I was a band geek who wore Doc Martens and lots of flannel. (Early 1990s). I've liked mainstream New Wave since I was a little kid; it has only been in the last 5 years or so that I've "discovered" stuff outside of Duran Duran and the like. That's what happens when you live in the middle of nowhere. [:)]
