Actually, I got into Elvis (and new wave in general) in 1979 after mistakingly hearing I looked like him!

Upon finding the album, I thought I look nothing like that dork, but bought it nonetheless. It was when I got home and opened it up that I realized they meant Bruce Thomas the bass player, but the album was great and got me going on my "New Wave Phase." Thanks to those two high school girls!

I, too, was a Newsday paperboy at the time but never was I lucky enough to encounter any sunbathing high school girls in bikinis on my route. There were some pretty cute 20-something moms. They were not referred to as MILF's yet.

We didn't sell a lot of records, but somehow we left an impression.

I was a Newsday paper-person too. First I split the route with my neighbor and then he didn't want it anymore so I took it over. I have a hunk paper route story...does that fit into the thread?? [;)]
