Finally found a Wii Fit

Not sure if they are limiting production to create the hype or just can't make them fast enough. Either way I was in Target at 8:45 this morning and found the last one on the shelf. I had actually went to buy something else and decided to look just in case. When I checked out the lady said it was already the third one she had sold this morning and the guy behind told me he had been looking for it himself without success.

Maybe the game itself doesn't actually make you fit. Maybe it's the running from store to store, aisle to aisle, that makes you fit.

We didn't sell a lot of records, but somehow we left an impression.

For anyone coming to the city, the Nintendo Store at Rockefeller routinely has tons in stock. I kinda can't wait to play my son's Shaun White snowboarding game.

Been using it for about a week now and I'm liking it. First and foremost, it's still a video game to me. I'm not buying the idea that it's a substitute for real exercise. But I still see it as a benefit to my lifestyle because it motivates me and gets me into a daily habit. I just supplement it with some jump roping (and hopefully, real outdoor running when the snow melts).

I like its emphasis on balance and standing correctly (I have crappy posture). I like seeing the little rewards, I like the cutesy animations, and I especially like that it tracks my progress. The aerobics part is kinda lame and limiting, but I really enjoy the yoga workouts. The strength building part is effective but pretty much basic (push ups and lunges — what else?). Oh and the balance games are tremendously fun.

I'm pretty happy with it. If you can get over the fact you'll look like a complete doofus doing some of the goofy exercises, you'll enjoy it.
