Espionage

I am a fan of Espionage and decided to listen to the follow up LP earlier today, 'ESP' While I like their first album more I did notice the amazing lineup of musicians on "I Couldn't Get To Sleep Last Night." Grover Washington Jr. - Sax, Lindsey Buckingham - Guitar, Elliot Easton - Guitar, and Hilly Michaels - Drums. It's anyone's guess why this terrific Nik Kershaw sound alike never became a hit single. I am curious to hear all of your opinions on the band. My favorite Espionage songs are "Miracles" and "I Never Meant To Make You Cry (I'm Sorry)" both from their first release.

yeah, I definitely like their first album much better--the second one was pretty much watered down pop rock as compared to the more new wave sounds of the first. Most of their songs in my 80s folder on my ipod are from the first album--just Deliver Me and Couldn't Hold Back the Tears made it from the second LP. I don't imagine we'll ever see these two albums released as a 2-on-1 CD, which would be great.
