Okay...to keep this thread fresh, here's a few more:

Both Poly Styrene and Lora Logic of X Ray Spex eventually became Hare Krishnas.

Morrissey of The Smiths was briefly in The Nosebleeds (as was Billy Duffy, later of Theatre Of Hate and The Cult). He was also the president of the New York Dolls fan club, well the U.K. chapter anyway.

Mark Bedford and Daniel "Woody" Woodgate of Madness were members of Voice Of The Beehive.

Stuart Adamson of The Skids/Big Country was the co-author of "The Saints Are Coming", which Green Day and U2 jointly covered at the Superbowl a couple of years ago (and issued as a joint single). Of course, you Skids fans out there already knew this...

Debbie Harry was an adopted child.
The original name of Blondie was Angel & the Sankes, just after Debbie & Chris Stein left the Stillettos.
The song "Pretty Baby" from Parallel Lines was supposedly written about Brooke Sheilds. It's assumed that "Rip Her to Shreds" was written about Cherry Vanilla, although both she & Debbie claim it is not.

Martha Davis of the Motels was a teen mom. She is also a survivor of breast cancer. She was diagnosed shortly after her post-Motels career.

serious contender for the tiara that Debbie Harry wound up with;
she's wearing 'her rock and roll sweater' on the cover of "Bad Girl", where
she LOOKS like Brenda Starr,and everyone knows that Cherry was Miss Groupie Supreme
before going to work for Bowie

of XTC( Margaret Freeman).

Andy also plays the harmonica on the original
7" version of Thomas Dolby's Urges.

Thomas Dolby has written a large percentage
of default ringtones in cellphones.

Andrew McClusky of OMD was briefly a memebr of
Dalek I Love You.

Although Devo appeared on Saturday Night Live only
once, they were on ABC's Fridays three times.

Mark Mothersbaugh & Jerry Casale of Devo,
Danny Elfman of Oingo Boingo and Wall of
Voodoo's Stanard Ridgway, all have second
careers as soundtrack composers.

Also Mark Mothersbaugh & Jerry Casale have
written jingles for commercials.

I had heard that Spandau Ballet's name was based
on something entirely different. German WW II
Foker planes had engines in them that were made
in Spandau Germany. These engines were designed
in a way so that the propeller and the piot's
front machine guns would be in sync so that the
propeller wouldn't get shot up by the bullets.
The bullets would then perform a "ballet" as
they passed between the propeller, a "Spandau
Ballet".
