Thanks SO MUCH for taking the time to upload these, bleek ! getting ready to listen right now.

Little story: I had to move in the middle of my Senior year in HS--in 1985--from WA to Alaska. On some nights after I'd moved, I could actually get KJET on 1600 AM to come in !!! I don't think KJET's signal was that strong, but AM signals can be picked up from pretty far when the night sky is cooperating.

I have many tapes of WLIR/WDRE, but like everyone else i edited most of the talk to sqeeze as much music on one tape as possible ...but many have little tidbits of the station and jokes on it..more tapes to come

Hey brother uploaders>..Quick question..is there a way to create a playlist with a player on myspace..I have been uploading Vintage WLIR/WDRE tapes and i would like them displayed in a music player like on Myspace ect.any ideas..

Bleek, I'd be interested in hearing the KZAM tape you mentioned. I used to DX the various formats on 1540 prior to "Classy" taking over both the FM and AM.

Here are a couple of unscoped items sent to me by Stephen Rabow on a C-46 cassette:
Side one is Steve Rabow's House Party, KZAM from 1-31-81

Here is 46 minutes of KJET I recorded on 6-18-88 while visiting a friend in Mountlake Terrace. Reception was a little less than perfect. The jock is Maxanne Sartori with Thad Wilson doing a live remote from a clothing store called Luna. Coming soon, the first 90 minutes of the last KYYX House Party, other portions of which were posted recently in the KYYX thread. This portion was also sent to me by Stephen Rabow at about the same time he sent Barrisfan some tapes.

Oh boy, if you guys like vintage tapes, I have just found the mother of all WLIR vintage tapes.I was cleaning up a little and found 5 tapes.Not just tapes but the screamers from 1980-1983.The very first one and then some...Stay tuned i will be converting them to mp3s soon.

You freakin' rock. It is so awesome hearing all the djs' voices again. Brings it all back. I'll never forget that last night of KYYX. I cried. They obviously got loaded and had a great time together.

I posted this at my KJET facebook page but figured I should post it here now:
KJET on Live365 is now streaming the live recordings! til recently I've been playing a mix of the KJET playlist from my collected library (extensive at this point) along with the station IDs. For a limited time I'll be streaming the original live recordings made from 1982 till the bitter end in 1988. Most of the recordings are my own but some were generously donated by Janice, and Mike Svob, Mike Fuller and others.

Check the "listen settings". There is an option under "Listen Settings" at the bottom of the page. check "MP3 Desktop Player – iTunes, Winamp or similar pop-up audio player application " That works for me.
