I just heard. Very sad. The Cramps were one of those bands that never seemed to die. There is no replacing Lux Interior. I saw them once in NYC. They were excellent live.
Rest in peace, Lux, and thanks for the memories.

We didn't sell a lot of records, but somehow we left an impression.

Sad indeed. Saw The Cramps in Albuquerque back around '96 with Southern Culture on the Skids and man did they crank out a show! Lux's intensity and energy was astounding -- I imagine he lived fast & hard and perhaps it finally caught up with him.

Very sad. The Dailyswarm article is great. I didn't know that he & Poison Ivy were married or that The Cramps were part of the '70's NYC punk movement.

Yep, one of the best shows I've ever seen. Simply devastating news. He was a pioneer and one of the best performers out there. His legacy remains. Wow. Truly sad.

I've been a fan of them since the early 80's, have tons of their music and never got to see them live....what a drag. Sad to see him go.

I couldn't even count how many times I saw The Cramps. I can't beleive the fist time was over 25 years ago. I just kind of assumed that he'd be around forever.

they auditioned at CBGB and were rejected;Peter Crowley
was at the audition and offered them a gig at Max's Kansas
City,and that's where it really started for them;
after which,of course, CBGB jumped back into the game

Bummer. Got to see them once, one New Year's Eve in the mid- eighties. I just remember Lux with his silver pants half way down his ass and his hands in his pants.
