Have one... I use it only for staying in touch with current friends and being nosey about what people are up to that I have not seen for ages / old school friends etc that I have no intention of ever catching up with again ;-)

Always go and review your privacy settings
Don't make your DOB and POB viewable to public
Do not install 'applications' unless you are more than happy being a marketing 'tool'
If you are friend-slut - make sure you don't allow everyone full acess to all your page... (if you are a friend-slut you are likely to let someone in who actually hates your guts and will end up using something against you)

Yeah, it's nice for that. You can have contact with acquaintences without having a real conversation with them. You read what stuff they've posted on their wall, or whatever, and if you feel like it, you make a comment or two.

I don't use it much for the music aspect of it. I think MySpace is better for musicians.

I got a Facebook back when it was cool, back when only college kids were allowed in. Slowly but surely, I started using it more than I did MySpace, and now Facebook seems to be my homebase. (Apart from my website, of course.)

Get a Facebook if you just wanna keep in touch. It's nothing more than the telephone, version 87.2. Except you get a llama thrown at you once in a while and you can comment on people's philosophical Status Updates, bringing their meanderings down a peg for sport.

It depends on who you want to contyact and who you want to con tact you. I'm in and regularly communicate with old friends, particularly one of my old friends who loves New Wave.

But with FB, you are two ages. Your current age...and then 18 again when you talk to all your high school friends you have not seen in several decades.

I have one but I have limited my exposure to people I don't want to connect with.
First, I am using my middle name as my last name.
Second, I created a separate email address just for facebook.
Despite this, Glok and Abacab still managed to find me!
Just kidding guys. I gladly accepted them as friends.

I did. however, change my email address once I realized that it was easy to find me if you had my email. Now, I use facebook to network specifically within the music community and I initiate the moves.

We didn't sell a lot of records, but somehow we left an impression.

I joined a few weeks ago. I do not use not my real last name but my maiden name. So far I was contacted by some old friends so it was good. I don't go on too much though.

I actually have been spending a lot more time on Facebook than when I first posted. I'm a pretty lazy emailer & non-existant phone caller so it's a good way to keep in touch with people I otherwise would never see, talk to or hear from.

I have a bunch of friends who live out of town or state & it's good to hear all the mundane daily things that they're doing and of course, their daily 5's... I'm just wierd that way...

It's also good to see all the outposters on there.

I'd go for it Blir, it has the wolver paw print of approval.

And now I have Marie3, Philly and Wolvie on my friends' list. It's actually pretty good, Blir.

I saw a report claiming that just over 40% of divorce cases had something to do with Facebook. hmm....
