Any fans of this group? I've always liked their song "desire" but used to think everything else by them was nails across a chalkboard. However over the years their music has really grown on me. I like their quirky mix of goth rock and arena rock and it's aged very well. My favorite album by them would have to be Discover. I've never heard any of their newer albums. Anyone know what they sound like?

Back in the day KROQ (106.7 FM) in LA would play the crap out of their "Jealous" song... Never really got into them.

A friend and I have had a few discussions about them because they share fans of 80's Goth and 80's Hair Metal. Aside from rather interesting haircuts I never thought these two fan collectives would ever have any common ground.[:D]

A DJ friend gave me an extra promo copy of "Immigrant" back in the day. I always liked, "Cow", "The Rhino Plasty", "Desire" and "Heartache".

I like the cover of The Smith's "Ask" they put out a while ago. Used to listen to their old stuff all the time. They still tour.

I like "Desire," "Josephina" and "Twenty Killer Hurts." "Jealous" is irritating.

They never really considered themselves as Goth. Back in the early days I ordered their first album through import (I live in holland) and I still think it's pretty good. Though the production (John Brand) is a little bit flat, it shows their talent. Sometimes they even sound like U2, but better! The second and third album are also OK, that is when you're into that kind of music.

Promise and Immigrant are great - Discover, ok. Really started cheesing out around the 4th one - House of Dolls. Surprised no one mentioned there are 2 GLJ's now! Jay Aston has the real lineup. First band i ever saw at the late, great 9:30 club in DC and it blew me away.

Back in the day WLIR/DRE gave 'Desire','Motion of Love','Jealous','Gorgeous','Suspicion' and '20 Killer Hurtz' plenty of airplay.

Of those, 20KH is my fave, especially with all those rippin' Stevie Ray Vaughan inspired guitar hooks.[8D]

The LP (vinyl that is) also included a live album, Glad to be alive. It really showed how good they were onstage. Is that included in some kind of remaster? If not, I could post it. I also have their first 12" (4 tracks), but that's not digitalized yet...
