Human League returned to form somewhat after Crash (Jam & Lewis 1986 era Janet Jackson production just didn't meld well with them at all beyond the track Human). Heart Like a Wheel from Romantic is a great song, and most of that album was pretty good--but like PSB, the transition to deep house, hard house and techno in the 90s never really worked.

I don't know. I'm listening to the PSB whose tracks in the 90s couldn't hold a candle to the club tracks that were big back then from Amber, Deborah Cox, Vernessa Mitchell. Just like 90s Erasure couldn't. Not a good decade for either of those great 80s synthpop bands IMO.

Oh my GOD, this song is [b]GOOD.[/b] I almost lost my mind when Chris Lowe started singing but decided to wait until the track finished before posting. Now that Oakey just started his vocal I need to post how much I love this song.

Bud, I totally dig nineties club music but just default to the new wave acts who interpreted it in their own way. PSB and Erasure are perfect examples. So are New Order and Depeche. If you're gonna do club go with the better lyrics, music, songs, etc. For example, I think PSB's Before is one of the finest of their career (up there with Being Boring) and the Danny Tenaglia mixes, the Classic Paradise mix are among their strongest. I was happy to tell him this when I met him a few years ago [:I] Red Letter Day's mixes by Trouser Enthusiasts and Basement Jaxx...stellar. What David Morales did with Nightlife is just pure sonic elation. In many ways, these bands and their ilk influenced (and still influence) club music from the early eighties on. We owe it to them to pay respect- they've sure earned it. Just my opinion.....

Only listened to disc one once, and it was so-so. I quite like disc two, though.

I think that "The Way It Used to Be" will be a single.

Has anyone else had difficulty getting hold of the 2 disc edition over here in the UK? Trawlled the family around various stores and pre ordered it from Amazon way before the release date. Evidently it's 'on it's way'. Looking forward to getting hold of it especially the 2nd disc. 'Love and Dancing' sorted (corrupted) my musical preferences out for the last 30 years. Glad to see it's getting referenced in todays music ( Soulwax did a great job of referencing it with 'Nite Versions' a couple of years ago).

are you sure 'nite versions' wasn't referencing Duran Duran? All their early singles were released in remixed (sometimes re-recorded) format as "Night Versions".

Probably both, it was all mixed together like 'Love and Dancing'. Perhaps DD should have done that as well at the time.

I ordered the double disc set via Ideal Copy (love that store) and it just came in today's mail. Interestingly, it's shipped form Hong Kong (Kowloon).
