Suggestion, I need a New Laptop!!

Postby Cadman68 » Wed Apr 08, 2009 2:17 am

My laptop is fried...any suggestions on what kind I should buy next? It's my mixin' laptop, my desktop is not beefy enough to load up my mixin' software so I'm at a holding pattern on mixin for awhile, but I do keep the music on an external hard drive (the smartest decision I ever made), so I didn't lose that...

P.S. Kicking it old school, 2 decks and an old numark, the only recording device I have is cassette recorder, lol!

I can asure you of one thing; NEVER buy Gateway. NEVER. Not even if it's on a special sale and cheeper than another computer that has all the same specs. They put me through hell when I got my desktop and it turned out to have defective parts. Their 'tech suport' is nothing but a bunch of noob customer service reps with a 'PCs for ideots' manual as far as I can tell, and they'll treat your hardware like shit when you mail it to have it fixed. The list goes on. Realy horible company.

i got a used intel macbook for $800 direct from the apples' website. i like to buy laptops that are less than a $1000 because i take them to gigs. Yet the Macbooks runs Ableton and Reason perfectly. Plus it comes with Garageband for free.
