Thanks Wormster.
Here's some more...
I am trying out this great site for creating virtual folders, so I uploaded most of my digitized recordings of LIR to it. This is about 90% of the collection.

To all who are interested, enjoy!
("Makes a great Christmas Gift")
but wait....there's more!
If you call now....a cheese grater.

I just found and uploaded more recordings of WLIR. This is mostly unedited from 2/9/99; there were a few breaks but most of this in tact including commercials. This stuff is almost 10 years to the day.

It's "Resurrection Sunday" and you'll hear a lot of the veteren DJs at the controls with others calling in. Really interesting. This runs about 10 hrs in 8 files.
I uploaded them with the others...

Hey Motnow, any chance you might have some 1997 LIR recordings?[8)]

I've been trying to track down a tune by a female artist that was on fairly heavy though short lived rotation back in the late spring early summer of that year and for the life of me, cannot get an ID for it!

I clearly recall that it was played fairly often during the 2-4pm drivetime segment. Perhaps you may have it on one of your airchecks from that period?

BTW: I've tried unsuccessfully to retrieve playlists from airstaffers who were on during that timeframe and am dying to remember that song!

TIA [:X]

Retro,
I posted just about everything I have. I still have some more to convert but I doubt it's specifically from 1997. Did you mean 1997 or 2007?
FYI, I just uploaded LIR's playlist to the same folder. It may not help you but its a great list of everything played from the early '80s to the late 90's. If you get an artist name or title (or a piece of it), it's sure to be on that list.

Most definitely 1997...

Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't yet see any 1997 airchecks in your share directory. I'll be much obliged if you could post any![:p]

I'm drawing a total blank on title & artist since it was one of those tracks that seldom (if ever) got ID'd when I heard it.[:(!]

Thanx for posting the playlist (BTW: It appears to match the one I received from DJ Max back in '04)[;)]

Over the years the LIR airstaffers would treat the listers to spontaneous spur of the moment in studio remixes and extended club style dance track sets such as these. More proof positive of how truly unique Elton Spitzer's WLIR really was.

Any chance that someone could re-upload this track, as the link appears to be dead? [:D]

I've been haunting this site for ages, but not thought to sign up until i found this link. My old tape of this track died a death many years ago, and I'd love to hear it again.

Hi all,
For those interested...I was asked to make my vintage WLIR recordings available again. I re-uploaded my WLIR "stuff".
I counted about 56 files; each run about 80min each.
I hope you enjoy them as much as I did !
Granted they are not contiguous, a lot was edited out but it's still an interesting listen.
This link should bring you to the "WLIR" folder:

Mike
