as a fan of synthesizer and dance music, I personally don't care who wins.... because none of them will put out material that I like enough to spend time listening.

it's gonna be the same old r&b or that post-alternative 90's rock.... boring stuff if you ask me.... not to mention the album will have a dozen producers and songwriters one for each song....not much artistic integrity either....

I would just make Paula Abdul the American idol this year, for her fabricated lypsinching of whatever that song was that she "sang".... probably the most exciting part of this year [:p]

but I do give credit to that kid that went out with a guitar and performed Heartless

Nice to see Kris win over Adam--again--only saw part of the season but Adam's high pitched catterwalling in EVERY damn thing he sang was really sickening. Would I buy anything from any of them this year? Doubtful--just had to say I was pleased Adam went down.

Dear America...you make me puke. I saw a bland forgettable guy win American Idol over a very talented guy, another talented guy and a more talented girl. Adam hands down should have won. Danny should have beat out Kris, and Allison is WAY more talented than Kris. But thats how these shows go sometimes it is just luck or a bad night. But to have Kris beat out Adam head to head is just stupid. .And I totally buy into the fact that Adam is gay and Kris is a good Christian married and all.You can't tell me that all the non sinners sitting in the bingo hall did not stage a campaign to make sure one of their own won and not the gay guy. Screw you America and your closed minds.

Adam absolutely butchered half of the songs he sang, especially two of my favorites (u2 - one, tears for fears - mad world). He had the biggest range but there are other things to consider. Adam depended greatly on his grandiose stage presence which for me is a big turn off. Chris was humble and could sit out there on a stool with his guitar and interpret the songs without destroying them.

I really wanted Allison as well.

Realistically the top 5 or so will make records. I guess the real winner is the one who can sell the most. So let's check back in a year...

If they ever do a movie about the band "Queen" Adam could surly play Freddie mercury, he just needs to get some buckled teeth.

Funny enough, Queen just dumped Paul Rodgers and are looking for a new frontman. I was thinking Paul Potts or the ugly English chick, but Adam would be the perfect combinaton of both.

And I will add.....I just saw access Hollywood and I was pretty surprised. Kris still says that Adam should have won and Kris also said he hopes people voted on talent and not religion or sexual stuff. He really does seem to be a good guy. Then Adam said Kris deserves to win. He was also a very nice guy. At least a total dick did not win. I was happy with the way both guys were acting all along. Adam always thanked the band, writers etc. Anyway, whatever...its a show and I'm going to bed. Allison could out sing all of them.

Well, opinions of who should've won aside, I think it is important to realize that once you get down to the top 12 or 13, it is a popularity contest, not a talent contest. Credible judges of talent don't make the decision. America does. Credentions don't get checked. Anyone with a working phone gets to cast a vote...or two...or one hundred. Remember Chris Daughtry? Fourth place the year he competed. Enough said.

I don't think Chris got voted in by the Moral Majority or The Christian Right. After all, this is the entertainment industry. This is the one place where sexual orientation isn't even considered. I'll bet Jerry Falwell and Rush Limbaugh may have even bought an Elton John record or two in their day. WGOD in Bible Belt, Tennessee didn't run a contest to flood the phones with pro-Chris votes. America made the phone calls on their own. And they don't always get it right.

Here's some consolation for those who thought Chris wasn't the best that American Idol had to offer this year: maybe everyone won. The winner is under contract for some period of time (one year? two years?) and will have their artistic creativity stripped from them as they are forced to record lame song after lame song until the Idol chains are removed. I don't know if anyone else is under any obligation other than the one-time tour.

So, if you believe that Adam, Danny and Allison were more talented than Chris, as I do, then they all win. Chris wins because he has a recording contract and a shot to make some money when his phone might have been silent otherwise. Adam, Danny and Allison win because they had a whole season's worth of free auditions on national television and are now free agents and have the freedom to deal with whatever suitor suits them best and I do believe that the three of them will receive some interest.

In summary, I believe all four of them actually won because of the way it turned out.

I could be wrong but I believe the top 10 or 12 are obligated to do a summer "Idol" tour and that's it. Only #1 wears shackles.

New York Post referred to the show as "owning" the contestants, noting that signees sign contracts to record only with companies owned by the show's producers and to allow related agencies to manage their careers. However, contestants are advised of the conditions and requirements for taking part in the contest and that signing the contract is optional but a requirement if they want to participate in the competition. Even knowing the restrictions, tens of thousands of contestants sign the contract anyway, as AI provides most of them an opportunity for success and visibility not otherwise available.

Another source I just read states that the obligation for the non-winners is three months, in other words, the summer tour. I'll have to find something rock solid
