The truth is never slanderous, whether in the past, present or future. Unlike your fraudulent claims, I can truly predict the future...it's becoming clearer...clearer...you will need to buy at least one copy of...Seeing Red, for I see a hole in your collection.

Danielwaver,

Here is my response to the slander and hatred you just posted.

"I WILL post this torrent unless I hear from band members asking me not to do so."

O.K., if the band members don't object then so be it.

"I respect the artists but unfortunately can’t respect a scammer like you."

If you respected the artist you would not be posting their record as a torrent.

Also, I am not a scammer. The artist just got paid $622.00 because of me. Should I ask you the same question I asked eight6. How much money have you made any band, and how much money will you be making Seeing Red in the near future by posting their single for free? And also what's up with the double negatives in your sentence? I'm sure you meant to say "but I can"t", not "but unfortunately can't" because why would it be unfortunate that you can't if you thought I was a scammer.

"Besides I have followed your responses on this board and noticed how you have insulted a few nice people I know on this board including fiftypercent and eight6. "

I have not insulted anyone. I have just responded to insults which I'm sure you can understand a person is inclined to do. Every post eight6 makes on here is aimed at making people like you believe that I am a scammer, and I felt like fiftypercent was originally trying to insult everyone by saying the seeing red record is his, and he is only one that can have it. So if that is what you consider to be nice people then your definition is different then mine. I know now that fiftypercent is nice, because he deleted or took back what he had written, but I initially didn't like the way he teased everyone with the record, and helped no one to get it. I was the one that contacted the band, and I'm the reason a person besides him has the record now. And I'm the reason the band just got $622 for the record, and I'm the reason they know that anyone wants their record, and by that token are deciding if they should put it on Itunes.

"Now about putting this as a torrent, I honestly think you are more concerned about your own financial loss over this single. I can visualize a few copies of the single gathering dust on your shelf forever. "

How can you honestly say that. I have never dealt with you before, and all your criticism is based on me defending myself against insults. However, I can honestly say that I do not have a few copies of the Seeing Red record on my shelf or anywhere else. And in terms of financial loss how I am going to lose any money when I never have any money, because it is all spent on records :-)

"So I will wait for a few days, if band members have no objection to this, and if I don’t hear from them on this board, I will post it on thepirtaebay.org and its title would be "
The Rarest New Wave Single....Ever?"

O.K., I will let the band members post on here if they object to you stealing money from them or not. That is their decision.

"And you also need to get a "legal life". I live in a country where file sharing is not illegal. So keep your BS threats for yourself."

I object to you stealing money from the band Seeing Red. I suggested and advised you not to do so. How do you interpret that as a threat?
A suggestion of advice is not a threat.

"Your comment just made me more determined to post this."

I am sorry that my comment makes you want to steal, and allow others to steal. It was obviously meant to do the opposite if you read it correctly, and coherently.

"By the way I can still send you the song Ma Baker for free."

I do not want any song called Ma Baker.

"I think you like it as the lyrics are about a notorious (female) criminial. It fits your description very well :D It goes like:"

How does that fit my description? I am not a criminal, and I am not female. Also, I'm sure you meant to say "I think you will like it", and not "I think you like it", because "I think you like it" might not sound to intelligent. Don't you agree?

"They left a trail of crime"

I don't do drugs, steal, or perform any illegal activities which is the definition of crime. Therefore, there can be no trail of crime that has anything to do with me. So that doesn't describe me.

"Across the u.s.a."

I am mostly in California, and don't travel around the U.S.A. very often. So that doesn't describe me either.

"And when one boy was killed"

I don't know any boys, and I don't know any boys that have been killed. So that doesn't describe me either.

"She really made them pay"

I am not a female as I have said before, and I have never made anyone pay for anything. So once again this does not describe me either.

"She had no heart at all"

I am once again still not a female, and I have a very strong, and powerful heart. So this is very far from a description of me.

"No no no heart at all"

I still have a strong, and powerful heart, and still very far from a description of me.

"Ma ma ma ma - ma baker - she taught her four sons"

My name is not ma baker, and I do not have any sons. So, that doesn't describe me either.

"Ma ma ma ma - ma baker - to handle their guns"

Still not named ma baker, and still have no sons. And therefore if I don't have any sons, then how could they handle their guns. I don't believe in owning, handling, or using guns either. So once again this doesn't describe me either.

"Ma ma ma ma - ma baker - she never could cry"

Still not named ma baker, and still not a female. I have cried though, so since this says could never cry then that doesn't describe me either.

"Ma ma ma ma - ma baker - but she knew how to die"

Still not name ma baker, and still not female, and when it comes to what it is like to die I do not know that either because I have never done it.

So for the grand finally absolutely nothing in this song you posted has anything to do with me. All I can do is complement you on how totally, and completely inaccurate this song is in describing me. If you we're trying to do the opposite of describe me then this song would be about as perfect as it can get. I do not know how well you did on exams in school, but it could incline one to think that they we're not your strong suit.

Here is what I know about Danielwaver from what he has posted so it is based on his words.

1. He steals money from bands through his torrent, and believes it is o.k. just because it is not illegal in whatever country he lives in.

2. He believes slanderous lies, and rumors that are based on absolutely zero personal facts.

3. He has a peculiar taste when it comes to record shopping by buying records with the title "Ma Baker". I will not say his tastes are awful, but I'm afraid others might. I will just call them odd.

4. He posts slanderous statements on new wave message boards, and evokes hatreds towards people that he does not know, and has never dealt with.

There is my response. I am good at predicting the future today. So I will predict Danielwaver to provide more slander towards me, and no apology to the band for wanting to steal their music, and help other to do the same, and of course he will not answer the question as to how much money he has made any band.

And once again,

eight6 comes back with more slander, and neither question answered.

So I can only conclude from the facts, and the unanswered questions the following which are:

OBSCURE-

I have made band members well over $1000 for their records.

I have still not received the Dark White record back that I sold to eight6 for $200. I check my mailbox everyday, and it seems he is having trouble sending it back. I don't know why, because from what he posts on the forums it seems like that would be the first record he wants to get rid of especially since he has two copies, and I am the reason he has those records.

and

Eight6 has stolen over $1000 from bands by sharing mp3s on this forum.

Eight6 will not acknowledge questions or respond to questions that are incriminating to him, and put him in a bad light, because those questions prove that he is not a good person.

So there you have it THE TRUTH. I do agree with this statement.

"The truth is never slanderous, whether in the past, present or future. "

and he does as well, because he just said he did. Unless he wants to take that back. I will predict that he doesn't take it back.

Who cares if eight6 or anyone buys and owns 10 copies of a record, that is a personal choice. I have 2-3 copies of some vinyl and some CD's, I paid for them. I'm not depriving anyone, I found it, I bought it, period. If an artist sells 10 copies to one person, or 1 copy to 10 different people, 10 pieces sold is 10 pieces sold. I will never, ever look at a record or CD and ask myself if purchasing it even though I have a copy will be depriving another. Tough titties, if I find it it's mine, if I get outbid, so be it. Some can bid more than others, that's life.

And............something tells me eight6 and the rest of us, through our many purchases through the years, have put a few dollars in artist pockets, unless you are assuming that only things purchased through you benefit the artists. Heck, here I thought when I bought a new CD the artist was getting something. Guess I need to get those through you so you can pass on that money to the artist. Got it.

........oh, and I think I heard a little synthesizer in an old Buck Owens record, better get that posted as synth since you state that any synth, even if on one song, qualifies.

Buck Owens & The Buckaroos - The Joy Division Years, available on ebay......

Good morning,

For those interested in a discussion of different approaches to collecting I just started a new thread here:

http://www.nwoutpost.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=26694

And if anybody still cares, the person I mentioned happened to mail me in the meantime telling me that they have bought the second Seeing Red 7" off obscure now. Again, if this is true, according to obscure's own statement that he only got 2 copies that would leave him with 0 copies himself now. [;)]

My wife, for one. They're clutter and dust magnets according to her. Plus, many of them make a horrible noise.

Reasons for buying multiple copies:

1. Great for trades w/other collectors.

2. To help out others who may not be able to locate/afford a copy of an item.

3. Unlike others, if I have a substandard copy (sound quality) of a record, I don't sell it to somebody else...I'll hold it until I can find someone who needs a copy then I'll give it to them. Some people just want a copy of a record, and aren't as selective with the sound quality.

4. Because I can.

Good afternoon,
I wasn't planning to waste any more of my time (or your time) on our obscure friend but I actually have an idea that he could use, and I really mean him well by suggesting it.

I realize that even though he continues to refuse to communicate in private (at least with me) by not responding to e-mail he'll probably respond here and call me all sorts of things since I'm posting something here, but I figure let him do that if that really is the only way in which he is capable of dealing with people.

Anyway, since it seems to be very important for him to be perceived as someone who always puts his clients interests first (no matter whether they are an Ebay customer or a band) I would like to suggest to him that he includes that definition of his of what a minimal synth/synth/new wave record is to the template he uses for his Ebay descriptions.

Or, to quote him;
And what is a synth record? I consider any record to have analogue synths on it to be a synth record. Even if there is only one song with analogue synths, or the record is a new wave record or whatever genre. If it has analogue synths then there are synth collectors that will be interested in it. There are many collectors that are purist that do not like guitars at all, but there are also collectors that really like synths with guitars, and bands such as Class Info, and others that are as far away as you can get, but still include some synths.
Then everyone has a chance of knowing before buying something from him that perhaps even a brief (analogue) synth burp on for example a prog rock record actually still qualifies it as being sold by him as a great (and rare) minimal synth record.

I would certainly have welcomed (and needed) such a piece of information before buying a lot of the stuff he sold me.

I don't know if doing such a thing would have a negative impact on his sales volumes but in the interest of protecting his clients interests and ensuring continued customer satisfaction I'm sure that he will also think that this is a good idea and adapt it, starting with the next batch of records he lists on Ebay.

Who knows, it might even improve sales. Honest sellers with good customer care are usually rewarded in the long run.

I hope to be able to be as strong as falck now and stay away from this, I agree that this has become like flogging a dead horse.

But just like eight6, I am at the same time also fascinated by the car crash similarity, it is indeed hard to look away [;)]

I can confirm this. I can also confirm I now own a copy of the single. I didn't buy obscure's second copy: rather, I've purchased a copy from one of the band members. That puts me in the unusual situation of being more help to the band in terms of revenue than Obscure has been. My logic:

I've bought a copy from the band, thereby putting money in the band's pocket for their efforts. The amount is of no consequence, suffice to say it was in excess of the total the eBay copy went for. Obscure on the other hand, sold one copy on the band's behalf for $622.00 on eBay, and kept a second copy for his efforts...which he then sold privately for about the same amount that the eBay copy went for, thereby depriving the band of that potential revenue. Net result: eight6 > $700.00 to the band, Obscure $00.00.

BTW: I owe a huge debt of gratitude to fiftypercent & Steve from the group who both did a lot of legwork to put this together for me. Thanks again! Fiftypercent, I'll e-mail you shortly.

There's the two that erucsbo obtained and sold, the one eight6 bought from Steve, and my original copy. That makes four. Steve is the same guy that provided the better quality rip earlier in the thread.
