Simple Minds- Graffiti Soul

Any impressions? I liked the album very much even though I'm not a big Simple minds fan.

They shouldn't do videos anymore.

I'm probably biased because they are my favorite band, but yes, the new record is quite good and is also (surprisingly) getting good press in the UK.

I like it a lot, too, even more than Black and White (though B&W still has their best song in the past 20 years in "Stay Visible"). The production on the new one is great, and how about track 1, does that not sound like something Eno would've produced for U2's The Unforgettable Fire?! The atmosphere of that song is incredible. My personal favorite track is #3, "Stars Will Lead The Way", which sounds like it could've been on Once Upon A Time. By the way, does anyone know if that's Robin Clark on backing vocals? It sure sounds like her. The title track is great, too. Very pleased with the new album.

Now, if that SM/OMD tour would just make it's way over to the U.S. somehow (extreme wishful thinking)..

i really like their new album too , albeit the special edition with the bonus ( or 2nd ) disc with cover versions is - erm - not really necessary imho !

btw : while "rockets" was the 1st single in the u.k. , "stars ..." was chosen to be the 1st single in germany , which was indeed a pretty good choice , as it's the better song ! [:)]

the album opener - "moscow underground" - is also stunning ! [8D]

is it a better album than "b & w ..." ?
yes , i think so ! [;)]
