I need back Surgery!

Postby phillyidol » Fri Aug 07, 2009 12:24 pm

yup, an update on my bad back. I have been out for 4 weeks but the pain never stopped. I saw an ortho-surgeon today and have to see another monday for a second opinion. My disc partially ruptured and stuff is laying on the nerve which is causing all the pain. Nothing will shrink ir so they want to remove it. He said it is not a huge operation and has very good results with very little risk. I'm freaking out and I will miss at least 2 months of work. but I really can't take this pain anymore. Oh DEVO!

Good luck, Philly!

At least now you know what's going on and what you're facing. And, you know it can be treated. Hang in there! You'll be feeling fine pretty soon. [:)]

Unless the surgeon slips, then the NWO will be lining up to do shifts to reload your feeding tube.

But a) at least you'd know we care and b) let's hope it doesn't come to that! Sincerely, very very best of luck!!

I know with my mild scoliosis the pain was unbearable. I can only imagine what you're going through. Thankfully for me, (years of) regular visits to the chiropractor was able to help me. You must be in pretty bad shape to require surgery. Best of luck to you.

Thanks Marv. I saw a specialist today in the city and he told me wait a few more weeks and see if it gets better on its own. Not the news I wanted. But I am following up with other doctors and getting more info in the mean time.

Thanks and I agree. I don't want to rush a surgery but I want another opinion for sure.
