Buchanan's logic basically boils down to, "WWII was unnecessary and avoidable. If Hitler's goal was truly world domination, why did he make so many mistakes?" According to Pat, "... Hitler wanted to end the war in 1940, almost two years before the trains began to roll to the camps."
Naturally in this topic I'm only attacking a few specific views of Buchanan, and not Buchanan himself. Evidently there is a threshold of craziness (or moral bankruptcy) that must be crossed before a media pundit can be discredited writ large with regard to public discourse.
