Hmm they have probably both gone up a weight class sicne their hey-days!

If fingernails were allowed in the UFC, I'd put my monet on Nick. Abiding by UFS comp. rules, I think HoJo may end enforcing a ground and pound. Though I did meet Nick last year, and he was a very nice guy, so I'd not like to see his makeup get messed-up

Ah come on, he was anything but boring back in the Human's Lib and Dream Into Action days. Some of his later albums were more sedate, but those first two are very thrilling. The recorded/released concert he gave at High Wyclife (sp?) back in the Human's Lib days was amazing and crazy. He had that mime with him and it was just fun as hell.

Then the concert that you see on the internet that he gave around the Dream Into Action days had like robots breaking out of the walls and stuff lol. He dressed way over the top in that one. Overall, I mainly like him because of the synth compositions, and because most of his songs have a good 30 seconds to a minute of synth in the middle without any singing (but he is a good singer too, still today as well).

If you're talking about the albums after that, I give you that those were more sleepy. Not exactly the type of music I like, but still pretty good and a few really good songs.

Count me in. Although I'd put HJ more in the pop genre rather than NW but enjoyed Human's Lib, Dream Into Action a lot and One To One has some good tracks too.

I'll stand up for Hojo--at least I'll stand up for [i]Human's Lib[/i], which is a fine synthpop record. I think "MOR synthpop" is an apt description for everything afterward, but he could still churn out some catchy riffs. He's no John Foxx, but he's good people.

Yes, it starts and stops with Human's Lib for me. Definitely time for an expanded edition. Unfortunately, Dream Into Action (and the rest) is pure pop crap.

I'm a fan of a large number of his songs. But yeah, he's not one of my favorites either. It seems like the general consensus is that he's "pretty good" but nobody's favorite.

Same could be said for the majority of "new wave" acts and most non new wave acts too.

I'm not overly familiar with his stuff but I'd say HoJo's newer material is actually better to my ears than his older records (but I only really know the old singles).
