Why not address my absurd contention that tax rates are at or near historic lows? Why not acknowledge that you are unavoidably a recipient of public subsidies and will continue to be, your family and ancestors (assuming you didn't climb off the boat yesterday) have been recipients of public largess, and much of who you are and your status in this society is directly or indirectly shaped by the fact that this modern country was mostly built by government planning, intervention and taxation?

You don't have a valid answer to any of this, because this is hand-waivingly irrelevant and external to the sovereign universe of motors. While you have thoroughly benefited from the services this country provides as well as the innovations and goods it has enabled, you are also entitled to petulantly and ignorantly whine that this same system abridges your personal liberty and fortune, and for this reason is worthy of scrapping.

Nobody gets a line-item veto on public appropriations, whether it's spent on national defense (hey, only 530 Billion for 2009, and still the right wing squeals that it should be larger), health care, NASA, studying wolves in Alaska, or welfare handouts of the street corners of Toledo. In a democracy, not everyone is happy about how this all pans out, but misery is kept to a minimum. Even so, the rich seem to do extremely well here. Nonetheless, iIf you prefer single party rule and low taxes, Russia just might be your place (I'm assuming the Middle East isn't your thing).

As member of the Illuminati, I resent your assertion. Sure the Pentavirate make all the final decisions but we get to give our input along with our brother Freemasons. Check your local amusement park for our latest creation, the "It's a New World Order after all..." ride.

I now return you to your previous wankfest already in progress...

Sorry, Ghosty. I've given up on Sally. His/her/its statements have just become far too ridiculous and contradictory to address. On the one hand, it seems to be able to summon up enough brain cells to realize this country has some very real problems, yet seems to believe that the only thing that can fix it would only make it worse. He/she/it also seems fit to just blame everyone in power ... on both sides of the fence ... yet is willing to do nothing about it other than post link after link of articles no one here will ever read in an attempt to support its ever-fluctuating opinion. It's maddening and has to be either drug-induced rambling or intentional trolling.

Hey Sally, at least some idiots are useful. My only hope is that some day you can at least ascend to that level.

I'm done with this topic (unless someone worthy of my time would like to continue the discussion).

Motors, don't try to pass yourself off as the reasonable one. The antics started when you suggested that shooting the President would be fine but for the media spectacle.

There's nothing inconsistent about anything I've written. If you're confused by anything, or want sources, etc., all you have to do is ask. I realize that having a logical debate or discussion takes some effort, but if it's too much, I agree that it's probably best for you to retreat. I'm sure that before long you'll resurface with your predictable & fact-free, right-wing/libertarian misanthropy.

This should please the Glenn Beck fan club:

<a href="http://voices.washingtonpost.com/44/2009/09/06/van_jones_resigns.html" target="_new">White House Adviser Van Jones Resigns Amid Controversy Over Past Activism</a>

But it won't. The witch hunts won't end until we can prove all the witches are gone, i.e., not until a republican administration is voted in.

It's great that he resigned but his successor is Phaedra Ellis-Lamkins (lol, nice name), who must have been next up on the affirmative action hiring register. Sickening.

I get the distinct feeling that you have no idea how the government works, and even less that you have any idea what a "policy czar" is. It's just a sub-cabinet level position, aka an administration official. A President can appoint people to head task forces, oversee specific activities or policy objectives. If the person screws up, the Senate can demand their dismissal.

Obama is permitted to appoint anyone he wants to these positions. Any President gets to appoint a lot of people. It's a big part of their job. Did you care who all of Bush's appointees were? No, you didn't care a bit, even when some of them were found to lack any related or noteworthy experience (e.g., Michael Brown of Arabian Horse Assn fame, or the admins from Pat Robertson's law school in the DOJ).

Motors and other right-wing parrots love to rant about how government never gets anything done, and now they're raving about how outrageous it is for Obama to appoint people to get stuff done. Everything is a conspiracy to this crowd-- it's all fear, hate and paranoia. And rare is the obsessive wingnut who has an inkling of WTF he or she is talking about. No clue about politics, history, or economics. Motors is perfect example of this. I don't think I've read a single statement from Motors that amounts to anything more than the standard fact-free opinion shat out of the right-wing echo-chamber.

The first czar he should have appointed is a vetting czar.

That last sentence is the best, coming from the copy and paste queen ... or king ... or whatever the fuck you are. The one thing that is certain is that you really are a special breed of moron. It's just great how YOU never "parrot" anything or appear "obsessive" or show "fear, hate and paranoia" ... LOL! Yet you try to criticize me for lacking self-awareness? If you only knew ...
Yes, a first czar should have been appointed to ensure that no black progressives are given jobs in the administration. Although, this becomes a chicken-and-egg problem-- how would Obama possibly get the first czar appointed without a firestorm of protest from the right? Hmmm, maybe by appointing a prominent white Republican, but even then the witch hunters would find some reason to object.
Moving forward, I'll demand sources and data to support your drivel and talking points. I'll expect the same, and my offer still stands to provide more information about anything I've written here.

I don't think this will make any headway with you, since you rely on emotional, child-like thinking shaded by prejudice, xenophobia and solipsism, but at least anyone who's interested in keeping score will be more easily able to see which of us has some basis in reality and which is full of factless, hateful bile.

Not likely to happen because unlike you, I just don't feel the need to go on endless quests scouring the internet for people who agree with me. As an independent thinker, I just don't require the same meaningless validation a person such as you does. My opinions are just that ... mine ... and they are based on real life experiences and the ability to see the obvious. But, by all means keep on googling ...if it really makes you feel that superior. The last thing I'll worry about is who might be "keeping score". [:D]

Yeah, why resort to facts or data when you can just assure people that your opinion is really, really good? Motors idea of objective truth is to break out the Ouija Board.
