First off, The Pet Shop Boys do NOT suck ass. While some people's opinions of them are way overblown, they will always have an essential foothold in the New Wave legacy.

Secondly, You can't fix stupid. Many have tried and become exasperated in the attempt. Sally will continue to preach the gospel of liberalism until she finds something else to latch onto. Then she will become a rabid, idealistic crusader for THAT philosophy. She simply has a deep need to proselytize, "fix" things and tell people how to live their lives.

The pathology of taking responsibility for other's perceived problems usually stems from an inability or unwillingness to examine and work on one's own issues. But that's ok. I accept it as a necessary risk of being human that none of us is immune to.

Thirdly, Wayne, do not retreat hastily off to the "safer" sections of the board. The drama on this thread alone beats anything the Real Housewives Of Atlanta have to offer!

For anything I write, I can provide more information/clarification, sources and/or data. I don't tell anyone how to live their lives-- I'm discussing the role of government and public policy. Telling people how to live (i.e., family values, values voting) is the domain of the right-wing.

The only thing that should matter is a person's ideas, not his/her gender, race, ethnicity, religion, etc. Once you learn a person's physical or cultural characteristics, you start to treat a person differently than you would otherwise. For example, if Spit revealed he is a balding jewish Italian guy who tips the scales 400+ pounds, who knows-- people might stop telling fat jokes, making mafia references, or making fun of his mother's moustache. Just an example, of course.
