The fact is that both parties have so many skeletons in their closet it would make Fibber McGee's head spin. Hello Joe McCarthy meet Robert Byrd, etc.
I have a feeling as disenchanted as you feel with Republicans you will feel equally disenchanted with Democrats soon enough.

You're probably right. As I mentioned earlier, I agree with the adage that Democrats are 75% corrupt and Republicans are 95% corrupt. When I was a Republican (prior to George W. Bush), I bought into all of the outrage over the Democrats policies and corruption. Under Bush I finally realized the GOP was worse. I probably have the same hard lesson to learn in supporting Democrats.

Even if/when Democrats disappoint, the opposition would still need to earn my vote back. Merely opposing and obstructing the democratic-controlled govt. is not enough to convince me that the GOP can do better-- certainly not after the Bush years, and the bumper crop of lunatics in the current GOP.
