Brit guitar-rockers The Godfathers have begun work on what will be the recently reunited band’s first new album in 15 years when it arrives as planned sometime in 2010. Earlier this summer, frontman Peter Coyne confirmed on the band’s Web site that the group — working with new guitarist Del Bartle, who replaced the recently fired Kris Dollimore — has begun writing songs for the follow-up to 1995’s Afterlife.

I'm definitely excited. I've been a fan since I heard Birth School Work Death. I saw them on the More Songs About Love & Hate tour and it was one of the best concerts I've ever seen.

Hopefully, the reunion and new album will spur an interest in remastering their back catalog, however small it is.
