Led Zeppelin and the mudshark

I was reading a review of a new book on Led Zeppelin which made reference to a groupie and a shark (which I was unfamiliar with)

I heard this years ago and always just assumed it to be true. The Snopes verdict? "Sort of" [:D]. I love that it can neither be confirmed nor denied ... it just makes it that much better.

On a sidenote, I never knew a "mudshark" was also an actual fish.

I have always assumed this to be true through the years as well.
