I just heard a shitty rendition of Modern English's "Melt W/ You" by some shitty female band(Im assuming), for Hersheys Chocolate. Ok...Im sick of this shit now...it's gone on long enough, and It's not funny.

Please leave our 80s music alone....EVERYONE: Rappers/tv execs/etc. You fuck them up when you use them...please stop!!!

Using "I Melt with You" in an ad for chocolate sounds a whole lot more appealing than whatever cheese-infused abomination Taco Bell was hawking a couple years back.

That would be their Cheesy Beefy Melts, which Modern English should have been quite proud to hawk. Mmmmmmm. I say keep these joyous celebrations of the lofty New Wave art form coming.

No matter what cover I hear, good or bad, it just doesn't seem to ruin my life. It's also not MY music, it belongs to the artist or the owner of the rights to it, so whatever they do with it, doesn't impact my life one bit. It's not as if when I listen to the original it has someehow not as good anymore because someone else used it.

So.....when you hear or see the commercial or ad......change it, or hit mute, maybe this way life won't seem so horrible because you heard a cover version that takes away from YOUR music.

I hate those remakes, but on the other hand, I'm glad the songwriters get a few bucks for the royalties.

I could go the rest of my life without
hearing that song. Worst one on the album.
But, if they have the rights to it, i guess
it beats serving tacos or working for a
chocolate factory.

Agreed. Not a bad toon, just way over-played. And these cover versions are nearly as cheesy as the "Melt With You '91" or whatever the hell it was. By the way it ain't the first time it's been covered or used in a commercial-- check out the Wikipedia page for all the work this cash cow has done.
