Looks a bit like Rush Limbaugh, Karl Rove, Roger Ailes, Glenn Beck, Dick Cheney, Pat Buchanan, Pat Robertson, John Hagee ...

It's interesting how Beck's detractors basically act like his pimp, constantly throwing this guy in our faces to the point where he's unavoidable. If you really wanted to take Beck down you'd stop talking about him. Those on the right who like his show will continue to be his fans but without the perpetual fuel provided by the left he'd be effectively neutered. That's how I see it anyway.[;)]

Right on the money, Ghosty. I'd never even paid the guy the slightest bit of attention until Sally started babbling about him.

That advice is pretty good, and it makes sense when you're being teased in the 3rd grade. However, information is viral and doesn't work that way.

Think about the chain mails you get in your email in-box. Does ignoring them make them go away? How long before that same chain email message-- is repeated like conventional wisdom by your mom, aunt, neighbor-- or even the evening news? Not long. Lies sprint half-way around the globe before the truth even gets its shoes on.

So when there's a factually-dishonest demagogue/propagandist with a very large megaphone (i.e., a leading cable show and nationally syndicated radio program) and who is the face of a confused and angry (and sometimes armed) mob (i.e., the Tea Party), it's better to go on the counter-attack. Some bystanders get caught in the cross-fire, and that is a shame-- I hear you on that. But, to stand by and let hate, propaganda and bigotry be paraded and passed-off as truth and then be amplified by the media-- that can have very serious consequences.

This place used to be about the music.

P.S. I never even heard of Beck until NWO.

True Marv. This topic should stick to the music angle of things. The OP (innocently) put politics into play, and some of us (myself included) followed the discussion on a tangent.

The NNNW area is the rumble room for non-music discussions. Personally I enjoyed the banter, but I acknowledge this isn't the proper place for it.

Agreed. I moved my comment over to that side. It doesn't belong here.

On second thought. Just e-mail me Sally if you want to read it. I was bitching about this garbage being discussed in forums it doesn't belong in and to post it anywhere only makes me look like a hypocrite.[;)]

Beck just wrote and produced Charlotte Gainsbourg's new CD "IRM" which is practically a Beck album if not in name.[8D]

Great, excellent post,Sally.....and notice how the board bullies usually are the right wingers...and the policy for such is..Don't Back Down!...they probably wish W was still in the White House..
