<br>True Marv. This topic should stick to the music angle of things. The OP (innocently) put politics into play, and some of us (myself included) followed the discussion on a tangent.

The NNNW area is the rumble room for non-music discussions. Personally I enjoyed the banter, but I acknowledge this isn't the proper place for it.

All good Sally! And Ghosty, a Beck produced Charlotte Gainsbourg album? I must have it, if only for novelty factor alone [:D]

Joy Divison were the most imaginative rock band between the Doors and Nirvana and I'm convinced that the latter would have been different had they not existed. Sadly, the public remains woefully uninformed of JD's seminal influence in the musical landscape so anything that presents them to a broader audience is a good thing IMHO.

I don't think that the vanilla white toothless redneck goats that sit on a counch in their living room waiting to die, and using Beck as a portal to the world, are gonna rush out to buy a Joy Division CD anytime soon..

I don't think the global warming fearing prissy liberals that run out to their mail box everyday looking for another government hand out will buy a Joy Division CD anytime soon.
They'll download it for free from Limewire. Why should they pay for it? Joy Division must have screwed over some disadvantaged people of color to achieve the success they had anyway. They are almost as bad as Halliburton!

You know, there's another argument that says such people could use the education in good music [;)]

In the interest of fair play I feel compelled to join both a right wing message board and a left wing message board and post that Steve Kilbey of The Church will be on my show tomorrow night. [8D]
Bullshit
? Not sure what you read into it, but it seemed pretty innocent to me. Or are you egging-everyone on by chanting "FIGHT! FIGHT! FIGHT!"?

yeah toyota, that's where you're wrong...legions of glenn beck fanatics are on itunes right now downloading "substance" right now just to spite you.
I love this forum, I have shared gigs of obscure tunes here and I've gotten lots of great music in return over the years. I am here simply because I love new wave and I happen to be a dj that spins 80s too. I did not mean to drag politics into this forum, but toyota, if you want to debate, let's do it somewhere else, me and you. Everyone else, thanks for getting it, exposure for JD anywhere is good, period.
toyota, please come debate me on ideas and not just your rabid hatred of views you can't understand, okay?

I agree with Djcory. I'm done with political posting here. It's not the right place for it.

when was it ever a debate that Beck's a fat smelly bitch? Alright then, back on topic, Ian Curtis had to have rolled in his grave when United scored the winner against his beloved City this morning with 30 seconds left. Incredible!

Would you be opposed to a solo performance from Ian Curtis? Perhaps an impromptu meeting can be arranged for the two of you ASAP.
