What was your first LP (or album in an equivalent medium) not including childrens?

My first was "Glass Houses".

But my first new wave LP was "Bananarama," unless you count Cyndi Lauper's "She's So Unusual".

My first LP as a child was the Chipmunks' christmas album (but I consider part of my "real" album collection today).

My first 8-track was Shaun Cassidy in around '76. I was 8 and obsessed![:0]
1st 45" - Duran Duran "The Reflex" with the cool fold out poster! (I was not a big album buyer because I didn't have a record player. I would get albums ONLY if I couldn't find it on cassette)
1st album - Smiths [i]Hatful of Hollow[/i] (import)
1st cassette - GoGo's [i]Vacation[/i] or Men at Work [i]Business as Usual[/i] ??
1st CD - Duran Duran [i]Essential Night Versions[/i] in 1999. Yah, I was late to the CD game, too.

My First LP Purchase was "The Partridge Family" (Self Titled Album) from The Floyd Bennett Department Store in Hicksville NY (1970)
I Also Bought my 1st '45 "Knock Three Times" by Tony Orlando & Dawn then as well.

Played those on my 1st record player, one of those boxy suitcase jobs where the speakers and turntable would fold open and be left together or detached from each other.

Prior to that: (Kiddie Music Purchase) was Gene Autry's "Rudolf The Red Nose Reindeer and other Christmas Songs", Pixie & Dixie & Mr Jinx, The Sound track album from Disney's 'The Aristocats'

1st LP received as a gift (Used- from My Big Sis's boyfriend)was The Beatles "Revolver"

1st compilation LP was K-Tel's "Believe In Music" (1972) Still have it , I think.

My LP record collecting began in earnest when I joined The Columbia Record Club around 1976. Boston, Boz Scaggs, ELO, Three Dog Night etc..

As a tot I had Davey Crockett, "Bang Goes Ol' Betsy" / "Be Sure You're Right, An Then Go Ahead" by the Frontiersmen, I think.

First New Wave - can't remember if it was Missing Persons or Plimsouls.

1974 in Iran, begged my dad to buy me "Nilsson Schmilsson" by Harry Nilsson. It was a bootleg cassette. In fact, I don't think I saw a legitimate copy of an album sold until the first time I went to Europe.

First 45: "Gimme Dat Ting" by the Pipkins (backed with "Neanderthal Man" by Hotlegs, a band with some members that would actually go on to form 10cc)
First NW album: "Parallel Lines" by Blondie
First NW 45: "Mony Mony" by Celia and the Mutations (I think this was an offshoot of the Cramps)
First CD: I forget the title (it was ripped off from work by some guy I worked with who moved to CA), but it was P. J. Harvey's demo-release.
