What was your first LP?

1st album was "Grease"...I was 6 and LOVED the music from that movie (yes, my parents let me watch it, but let me tell you, it wasn't until I got into college and actually sat down and watched that movie again did I realize how I should NOT have been allowed to see that at the tender age of 6!!)

1st NW album....Duran Duran...Seven and the Ragged Tiger

I think the first LP I purchased was either Deep Purple or Jethro Tull - Aqualung. I think that I started towards new wave when BeBop Deluxe released "Modern Music".

First real new-wave album: Talking Heads '77.

I was born in '85, I've only been collecting records for about a year and a half. Having said that, I think a Duran Duran album was my first. I know I've had a Dead Or Alive 'Spin Me Right Round (Like A Record)' 45 for a long time too.

EDIT: NOW I remember what it was. A friend of mine gave me 2 Donna Summer albums as a joke. Somehow this turned into me collecting new wave albums. Thank you, Donna Summer!

The last piece of vinyl I bought (before switching to CD's) was Black Celebration - Depeche Mode

First album ever.....I was 9 yrs old, around 1977..Kiss, Rock n Roll Over.......First New wave was 1979 Devo, Duty Now for the Future...I still cant get enough of that album!

Well, Ibought a lot of cassettes before I got a recordplayer.
When i finnaly got it, my first Long Player was : Some Great Reward by Depeche Mode.
My first single was: This Is Mine by Heaven 17.

I'm not laughing. I actually bought both Hi Infidelity and Toto IV last year. Do I listen to them that often? No, but they are good to have around when I'm feeling nostalgic. As far as the first albums that I bought are concerned: The Police - Synchronicity - actually it was a casette. And the first 45 was Nena - 99 Red Balloons.
