Electricity - one of the very best electropop songs ever, IMHO.

Messages - this was fantastic on the 1982 tour; the cranked bass and synth lines literally shook the concert hall.

Do you prefer the original Factory/Hannett version, or the album version (or maybe even the Dindisc 1980 version)?

With Almost, it's a toss-up for me, although the Hannett version has these science-fiction sounds in the background, which are kind of cool.

Good question obs on the which version of Electricity. My favorite and I'm hoping I am thinking of the right one is the Dindisc 1980 version.

Obs, regarding 'Electricity', I'm not sure of the difference between the album version and the 1980 Dindisc version. I was introduced to it in 1981 when I bought a compilation lp called "Exposed II - A Sneak Peak At Today's Provacative New Rock". The liner notes describe it as being off the first US album titled "O.M.D.", which was a compilation of two earlier UK releases.

You must have the versions mixed up, because the Dindisc 1980 (which is the name of a compilation; hence, the mix name) version is remixed/extended. It's on the remastered OMD first album CD.

I have that Exposed II comp also, btw, as well as the first one. I haven't listened to it in over twenty years, though.

My favorite track is "Secret" followed by "Sailing On The Seven Seas".
