Tears For Fears question.

Postby NewWaveKid » Mon Sep 13, 2010 6:08 am

Its more like a question of an opinion. Do you think it was a good choice for Roland to keep Tears For Fears going without Curt? Or do you think he should have just stopped? Sure, Roland had 2 good hits as Tears For Fears (Laid So Low(Tears Roll Down) and Break It Down Again), but really, Elemental,Raoul & the Kings Of Spain, come on, I think it was a bad idea for him to keep going after Curt left. I think he should have just stopped after Break It Down Again. What is your opinion on this? [8D]

I think Roland should have gotten Todd Rundgren and a couple of his friends together and recorded under the name New Tears for Fears. That would have been awesome.

Curt should have joined the Thompson Twins, clearly.

It's easy to say now, but at the time, you never know if Roland would have release the best album of his life.

I look at OMD after Paul left. Universal was a brilliant album. Yes, there are some duff tracks, but if were cut down to 40-45min (ie. if it were released back in the days of vinyl) the duff tracks could have been left out.

Since I like all 4 of these songs: Break it Down Again, Raoul and the Kings of Spain, Falling Down, God's Mistake
Clearly I think Roland made the right choice... however, I'm glad Curt is back with Tears For Fears. Call Me Mellow is a cool song.

"Here's the new hit single by Tears For Twins, 'Everybody Wants To Hold Me Now'." Brilliant. :)

The song was on cassette. Luckily, I still have a cassette deck. Unfortunately, the tape snapped. Here's what I was able to salvage...
