My Cassette Collection!

Ok, let me ask a serious question. What factors lead you to purchase cassette over vinyl, or cd over vinyl, or whatever? It appears you were still buying cassettes into the 90's (e.g., Duran Duran 1993, Tears Roll Down: The Hits 82-92). That strikes me as being rather odd. What am I missing? Why wouldn't you purchase these on CD or vinyl. I don't think I've ever met anyone who preferred cassette tapes?

Well actually i Prefer LPs over cassettes,CD's over LPs.But I like having cassettes just because I think its cool to add to my music collection. haha, does anyone know if there are any Thompson Twins 8 tracks? or Tears For Fears? haha
By the way, I dont prefer cassettes, there actually my least kind of preferred way to listen to music, I'd much rather listen to LPs and CDs (:

I used to have [i]Into the Gap[/i] by the Thompson Twins on 8-track. Also had Duran Duran, Elvis Costello and Devo 8-track tapes back in the day. Sadly, they got thrown out when I moved away from home as I hadn't had a working 8-track player for a few years at that point.

[/quote]I remember riding in my brother's Datsun 210 back in 1985, he had an 8 track player, I specifically remember listening to Devo's "Freedom of Choice", Duran Duran's "Rio", and The Cars "Panorama" a few times, I'm sure he had more than that, but 8-tracks were around for a while. I know I had a cassette player in my car by about 1982, which was the preferred choice for a long, long time...

I've got a 6 disc cd changer in my vehicle since 1999 and I suppose at some point I'd like to get a system with a hard drive or one that I can plug an ipod into, but it's not a huge priority right now, I can burn mix cds and they sound great.
