You can also add in Bubblegum Music to Eddy Grant's music as well.Because when he was with his band from the 60's,The Equals,they did a lot of Reggae and also Bubblegum songs too.

I also think the goal of these stations was not just 'new wave' but simply 'new' music, so they tried to break artists that wouldn't get airplay anywhere else. I mean, I personally don't get how ska or rockabilly are in ANY way new wave, but LIR played them both. That doesn't mean I don't like the stuff, it just is kind of weird to program, you know, "She's Sexy & 17" between the Metro and Just Can't Get Enough...

Being from the UK, the term "New Wave" always surprises me !
Eddy Grant certainly wasn't considered part of any "wave" here.
He did however have a decent long career
