No future USM?

No future USM?

Postby pinhead » Thu Apr 26, 2007 6:14 pm

Taped in early 1993

This always sounded like Carter USM to me but their discography
doesn't include a track with these lyrics...

"lies lies lies and more lies
contemplating suicide"

"28 years old today
all the papers say: No Future!!!!!!"

"Happy Birthday"

Any ideas? Might be a live cover?

Thanks again!

A rather late reply to a query from three years ago, so you may have already found this out ...

The track's "Happy Birthday" by the Mute Drivers. I had it on a mix tape made by a friend circa 1990 and it took me 20 years to track it down.

They've got their own MySpace page, with the track streaming from there (and several others).

Cracking track, and yes, I can hear a Carter USM element there. Also reminded me of the New FADS. Good bit of righteous anger! :)
