I really want to like these guys. On album, too often they sound like they're in that whole surfy/fuzzy/happy pop crap of Vampire Weekend, Best Coast, etc. Live, I'm told they just belt it and take on a whole different character. The few songs of their that I really like tend not to be any of the ones they promote (LIghtning Lightning is a freakin belter). I think the things I like about them aren't what the band identify with, which is a shame because I think they could be badasses if they pursued a slightly modified route.

Interesting feedback. I responded to the keyboard element which reminded me of the Doors and Inspiral Carpets. I personally haven't heard anything like that in a while. I also liked the acoustic guitar and the melody.
I haven't heard anything else from them but will keep your comments in mind when I do. Thanks for responding! Sometimes I wonder who the people are that pay attention to this thread.
