Tampa's Vinyl Fever to close after 30 years

I am really disappointed to hear this news.

Vinyl Fever has been around since the early days of new wave. I was a student at USF in the early 80's. The store was very close to the university on Fletcher Avenue. I estimate that about 80% of my vinyl 12 inch imports came from there. Found the 12 inch of the Young Ones covering "Living Doll" with Cliff Richard. I was hooked.

VF moved location twice since then. Current economic conditions and the expiring lease leave the owner no real choice but to close it down. Final day is expected to be at the end of February. You can read more on tbo.com.

Any fellow Outposters ever visit the might Vinyl Fever ?

I was there in the beginning too. Across the street from Wooden Nickel.
Sad news to hear Must have spent thousands over the years.

Yep, I used to shop there too. I would drive from South Florida to Tampa to check out what vinyl imports they had. I bought some sure rarities there.Afterwards, I then would cross over to Orlando to Murmur records ... I am sure they are gone as well.
