Don't know who this girl group is, but they've covered Just Can't Get Enough--and the video looks like something the Flirts would have done:

well ... they also ripped off yaz(oo)'s "situation" in their debut single "if this is love" & now they cover dm's "jus' can't get enough" ! *sigh*
that's MORE than enough for me actually , sorry ! [V]

but such a scheme ( or better to say SHAME ! ) seems to be the hype of 2008/9 , as the red blooded women ( fyi : http://www.myspace.com/redbloodedwomenmusic ) did almost the same & after they ripped off yaz(oo)'s "don't go" in their "colour me dirty" debut , they now also do a dm cover & try to destroy "enjoy the silence" ! *urgh*

where will it end [?]
i really DON'T want to know ! [}:)]

"If this is love" is much better--good song that just incorporates the sample. Just Can't get Enough was way too karaoke.

Red Blooded Women don't incorporate the sample as well--it just sounds like they spun the Don't Go 12" and sang over it, but the song itself is pretty good. They have another song on youtube called synthesizer that is good--no samples there as far as i can tell.

Considering these are all overseas artists, they're sort of the 'new wave' of electronic new wave dance. You know there's a bunch of 40-somethings who grew up listening to Depeche and Yazoo producing and writing for these girls.

of course i know this all too well ... & really wonder WHY especially the guys of the manhattan clique production team , who also work for / with red blooded women have done something so ... erm ... "unimaginative" - to say it politely !
is this really all they can come up with today [?]
seriously ... where would we be , if yaz(oo) , dm & co. would've only covered other bands' work or almost totally relied on what was already there back then - plus some clever production teams ( like stock / aitken / waterman - only for example ) in the background ?
luckily enough they ( i mean yaz(oo) , dm & co. - not s / a / w ! ) were innovators in many ways & that's what makes them stand out after so many years , even after decades ! [:)]
the saturdays & rbw will not be remembered for their music one day , but maybe only for once looking good - i. e. they are totally hyped "pop products" & jus' "plastic pop" like the spice girls & girls aloud etc. !
i certainly don't need that , but each to their own , right !? [;)]

edited p. s. : if u want to hear some really good yaz(oo) & dm cover versions , i can only recommend to check out gordon merrick & liz enthusiasm's version of "only u" & marsheaux's version of "new life" - they are both ace , imho of course ! [8D]

damn I just made a topic in Not Necessarily NW section... oh well, I deleted it.

I like this cover, just came across it. I think Vince Clarke would approve of the way it sounds. And the girls are seeexay [:D]

here is clip

by the way I'm really loving their original song "Ego", very nice electro/pop tune, I sing it in my head a lot lately. And the intro sounds similar to Send Me an Angel [:D]

Girls Aloud also did a pretty cool version of Duran Duran "Girls On Film".
